Our Second Annual Walk for Liza

The second Walk for Liza was held on April 11, 2024, and brought together an even larger outpouring of support from the community. With over 50 generous raffle donors—including Park Lane Jewelry, Copperline BBQ, Push Pilates, Monkee’s, and The Red Zone—the event created a vibrant and meaningful space to celebrate Liza’s legacy.

We were honored to have the support of several sponsors, including Sigma Phi Kappa Delta, UGA Phi Gamma Delta, Supreme Nutrition, Hospitality South, and the Sigma Phi Pledge Class of ’94. The band Lawless brought incredible energy to the event with a live performance.

Speakers included David Britain, the 2024 recipient of the Liza Burke Community Spirit Award, along with Jack Burke, Liza’s brother, and Wade Cox from the Knox Martin Foundation, each sharing heartfelt messages that reminded us of the power of resilience, love, and community.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of everyone involved, the second annual event raised nearly $5,000 to continue funding the Liza Burke Community Spirit Award, which honors students who positively impact their peers and communities through leadership, kindness, and character.
